Analyst Interview – Intel Corporation

Intel Corporation is the world’s largest semiconductor manufacturer and leading supplier of microprocessors and chip sets for personal computers, workstations and servers. It also offers embedded, wireless, memory and software products to a variety of mobile, networking, consumer and industrial markets. Intel is based in California’s Silicon Valley and trades on the NASDAQ in the US.

Edison technology analyst Dan Scovel believes that Intel’s profitability is secure given the company’s dominant share in the highly profitable server market for processors that account for 25% of revenues. However, revenue growth will be a challenge for the foreseeable future due to Intel’s exposure to the maturing PC market, which accounts for over 60% of sales. It will also take some time before diversification efforts into mobile and the Internet of Things achieves critical mass.
