Neil has been at Edison for the last 20 years leading the analyst teams as director of content and strategy and establishing the firm as the leading issuer-sponsored research firm. He has also led Edison’s thought leadership on the equity research market.
Neil is a qualified accountant (PwC) with nine years’ experience as an equities analyst at Goldman Sachs. As Goldman’s building and materials analyst in London, he was ranked second by both Institutional Investor and Reuters. He left Goldman Sachs to help set up the specialist trading hedge fund, Tusker Capital.
Randy Baron Portfolio manager, Pinnacle Associates
Randy Baron joined Pinnacle Associates in 2012. He serves as lead portfolio manager of the firm’s various international and global products, and is responsible for the firm’s overall international investment strategy. In the first quarter of 2019, the International Small Cap strategy he manages was ranked among the top 10 ten players in its respective universe. In the second quarter of 2020, he was the number one ranked manager globally among international small cap funds with an overall quarterly return of over 56%. He is a member of the investment committee for the firm’s All-Cap strategy.
Previously, Randy was senior securities analyst at SM Investors, an investment partnership in New York, where his responsibilities included security analysis in various industries encompassing wireless telephony, cable television, food and publishing. Before SM Investors, he worked at JP Morgan and Lazard Freres. His experience also encompasses an early role alongside Gabelli Asset Management, which is known for its stock-picking expertise.
James Henderson Portfolio manager, Law Debenture
James is the joint portfolio manager of Law Debenture, alongside Laura Foll. He has been involved in the management of Law Debenture’s portfolio since 1994. He is employed by Janus Henderson Investors and also manages their funds Lowland Investment Company and Henderson Opportunities Trust. James is a value-driven fund manager and seeks out opportunities among large, medium and small companies where he believes that stocks are trading more cheaply than they should, based on management’s performance and the prospects for the company.
James Lowen Senior fund manager, J O Hambro Capital Management
With 30 years’ industry experience, James joined J O Hambro Capital Management in September 2004. He co-manages the firm’s UK Equity Income Fund, alongside Clive Beagles. James is a qualified chartered accountant and joined Newton Investment Management in 1998 as a member of its research department. At Newton, he was an investment director, a member of the UK Policy Group (responsible for setting up the UK Equity strategy) and the investment committee, and was investment leader for corporate governance issues. James holds a first class degree in economics from the University of Exeter and is an associate member of the Institute of Investment Management and Research.
