The Pebble Group — On track to deliver FY23 expectations

The Pebble Group’s half-year trading update indicates revenues and profits ahead of the prior year, with particularly strong top-line growth of around 20% from Facilisgroup. Brand Addition, the more established segment, is more than holding its own in a market with greater challenges, with revenues slightly ahead of H122 and maintained EBITDA margins. Facilisgroup is likely to become the majority profit contributor during FY24. This is a good H123 group performance, in our view, and our estimates are unchanged. The opportunities for further progress are not, in our opinion, fully reflected in the share price.

Facilisgroup has extended its offering from its core Syncore product proposition, firstly with Commercio, launched in H122 and which enables distributors to set up ‘no-fuss’ e-commerce, and now with Orders. This latter is set to be launched in H223 and is designed for distributors at the smaller end of the scale. More background on these can be found in our Edison TV interview with Facilisgroup President Ashley McCune, recorded earlier this year. Facilisgroup revenue growth of c 20% over H122 implies an £8.9m top line, with a maintained 47% EBITDA margin pointing to an EBITDA of around £4.2m.

Pebble’s trading update states that Brand Addition’s revenues are slightly ahead of the comparative period, with good client retention. H122 revenues were £52.9m, which was a very strong uplift over H121 of 29% as the business recovered from the impacts of COVID-19. H123 EBITDA margins are reported to have been kept around the 8.3% level, with higher gross margins compensating for the additional costs required to support the demands of the blue-chip client base. This would drop through to an EBITDA figure of around £4.4m for the first half for Brand Addition.

We would typically expect to see a cash outflow in the first half, with Brand Addition’s working capital cycle peaking in July/August, and the net cash position (excluding leases) at the half year-end of £4.2m is consistent with our modelling. Interim results are scheduled to be released on 5 September.

discoverIE Group — Trading on track in Q124

discoverIE’s Q124 trading update confirmed that earnings for the period were in line with the board’s expectations. The reduction in supply chain challenges has helped gross margins and is also driving a normalisation of the order book. Organic growth of 3% y-o-y against tough comparators is in line with our forecasts, which we maintain. With a focus on structural growth markets, a strong order book and a pipeline of acquisition opportunities, the company is well positioned to make progress towards its FY28 goal of a 15% operating margin (FY23: 11.5%).
